Musculoskeletal Ultrasound

Musculoskeletal Ultrasound used for Diagnostic and Treatment based purposes

When most people think of ultrasound, they often picture the sonograms commonly used during pregnancy. While the technology is similar, Musculoskeletal (MSK) Ultrasound serves a very different purpose—it is widely used to diagnose and treat injuries throughout the body.

Ultrasound has been utilized for decades by many different fields in sports medicine, but only over the last few years has been a regular application in orthopedics and sports medicine.  These devices allow for real-time visualization of soft tissue that cannot be seen with conventional x-rays.  Using ultrasound in coordination with your x-ray and physical exam allows Dr. Bradley to broaden his tools to give you the most accurate diagnosis.  Ultrasound also allows dynamic exams, which can visualize soft-tissue through the entire movement leading to more accurate diagnoses.  Dr. Bradley also uses ultrasound to guide his injections or perform minimally invasive procedures leading to increased safety, accuracy and less pain.
