What is iovera®?

• Iovera° (pronounced "eye-oh-VEE-rah") is a drug-free, minimally invasive outpatient treatment for pain relief. Your provider uses a handheld device to apply precise, super-cold temperatures to the specific nerve that’s transmitting your pain—this is called cryoneurolysis. The cold temporarily stops the nerve from sending pain signals to your brain, giving you relief that can last up to 90 days.

What to expect at your appointment:

• A local numbing agent (cream or injection) is applied so the procedure is practically painless.

• A small probe (called a "Smart Tip") is placed just under the skin above the nerve. You’ll feel very little during the 30-minute treatment.
